Just a few months ago, my husband and I had moved to Yosemite.

Yosemite is a beautiful hilly area in California, for those who don't know. Walking, cycling, horseback riding and many other activities are available outdoors.

But as much as I wanted to, I knew I wouldn't be able to participate in those activities. Because I was 230 at the time. The weight would not budge no matter how much exercise and dieting I did. My family would enjoy Yosemite's natural beauty while I stayed home.

After a while, I began to feel a deep sense of depression. The fact that I was so out of shape made me angry. So many precious moments with my husband and my children were being lost to me. In addition to not liking the way I looked, my husband also felt the same way.

But what could I do to help the situation?

Six months into my doctor's exercise and eating plan, I had barely changed.
